About Us

The success of our camps ultimately comes down to our extensive and hands-on experience managing safaris. From the beginning the company has grown from the interests and talents of the family. Above all, each and every one of us just loves to be on safari and are passionate about protecting these wildernesses that we love so much.

When to Visit

The highlands are accessible year round. The ‘dry’ season is from May to November with heavy short rain from November to February followed by the long rains from February onwards. Being at an altitude of 6oooft, the temperatures are cool in the early morning and evenings, and nightime frost is not unheard of in June/July.

Community and Conservation

Foxes Safari Camps are heavily committed to working with communities in Tanzania and operate an NGO – Foxes Community and Wildlife Trust which runs health, education, social and childcare projects. For more information visit http://www.orphansinthewild.org/

Our camps are committed to the protection and sustainable development of our natural environment, as part of the commitment have planted over 6000 trees.

Getting There

Safari Air Link (www.flysal.com) operate daily flights to the closest airstrip from Dar, Zanzibar, Mikumi, Selous or Ruaha and the lodge will pick guests up from there.
By road, the Lodge is 45km from Mafinga Town (on the main TanZam highway). Turn south and follow the loop road until Sawala which is 15km from the Lodge – from here it is signposted as ‘Fox Farm’.

The food was incredibly deliciously... Read this review

Our favourite things were: the symphony of birdsong in the mornings and evenings, the horses grazing freely on the fields in front of the lodge, the flowering trees, the croquet pitch in the secret garden full of flowers, the attentive and welcoming staff, the... The cabins were clean and cosy, one with an open fireplace. All in all, this... Read this review

  • Beyond perfect! No words to express this place, it’s like mini Europe in Tanzania. A great place to relax and spend your holiday, away from the city life, with some fresh air! Super clean rooms, amazing service, kind and helpful staff. Food was delicious, served with desserts after meals. To enjoy the views more, recommended time is to go during spring season.
